What does this mean for the Colorado Springs real estate market? Current real estate market conditions continued to show strong strength with a continued decrease in the current real estate inventory. Last month experienced a decrease in total existing housing inventory compared to the same month last year, while home sales for the month have increased compared from last year. Lower housing inventory levels are another positive indication of a healthy real estate market, with most markets proving very favorable for home sellers.
If you are looking to buy, interest rates remain low and there are still a lot of great homes on the market. Homes that are in good condition and priced properly will sell in a reasonable amount of time. The overall Colorado Springs real estate market remains in very good condition. We are receiving a large increase in military personnel that will be relocating to Fort Carson which should give our local economy, housing, and rental markets a nice boost. The cost of living in this area is very affordable and is an extremely desirable location to live. In fact Money Magazine ranked Colorado Springs in 2006 as the #1 best place to live for cities with a population greater than 300,000. Colorado Springs was also recently considered by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 10 cities where home prices are likely to rise.
